RIH District PARCC Information

Welcome to the RIH PARCC Information section of the website.  To the left, you will find links for more information regarding this spring's PARCC administration.

Please Note:  The New Jersey Department of Education requires that students in the Class of 2020 (our current 9th graders) take all PARCC assessments associated with the high-school level courses for which they are eligible to take during their high school career.  This means that all freshmen students must take the PARCC ELA Grade 9 assessment and the respective PARCC math assessment if enrolled in Algebra I, Geometry, or Algebra II.   If a passing score is not met on at least one of the three eligible PARCC ELA and PARCC Math assessments, the students in the Class of 2020 may use an alternative assessment to meet their high school testing graduation requirement.  Please note that an alternative assessment can only be used to meet the high school testing graduation requirement if the student has taken all eligible PARCC assessments. Every effort will be made to accommodate make-ups for students who miss the regular PARCC administration this spring.

For the classes of 2017, 2018, and 2019, it is the District's hope and expectation that all of our high school students in a tested grade and subject will take the PARCC assessment.  Additional information regarding the district's procedure for refusing participation on the PARCC assessment can be found under the FAQs link to the left.

Please Note - All cell phones need to be turned off and secured during the test administration.  Students are encouraged to leave their cell phones in their lockers or they will be collected in the assigned room before testing.  Collected cell phones will be returned at the end of the scheduled testing time for that day.
