Use this online form to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid over the Internet.

FAFSA Sequence

As January 1st approaches here is information and steps to help guide you with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Get pin number – The pin #qualifies as the student’s signature when completing the electronic application.

  • Allows the applicant time to correct any issues
  • Provides social security with time to approve information
  • Gives the student and parent time to try sign-in information
Complete FAFSA application - There are three ways to do this: Click here or download PDF Here.  You can also apply through the college.  The applicant gives the school the completed form and they process it for you.
  • For electronic completion you use your pin# to sign in.
  • When logging in the student must provide their name/date/SS#
  • If you do not have a pin at this time - you can process one there.
  • Complete general application information
  • Conduct IRS data retrieval – Parents can go directly to the IRS website and send their information directly to FAFSA. 
  • When transferring you IRS tax information into your FAFA click here and use the steps and scenarios provided.
Confirm completion - Print confirmation page
  • Log-in and check on status
  • Receive information and confirmation from education department
  • Colleges will then contact the student stating the aid received in award letter format.
  • At this time the student will work with the college’s financial aid office.
  • If the parent or applicant has further questions call the help desk: 1-800-4-FED-AID

  • Click for FAFSA Forecast
  • This will provide an estimate for eligibility  - and what each school provides
  • This can be completed before January 1, 2011
  • It creates less burden
  • Less questions
