The Ramapo Indian Hills High School District has partnered with Bergen Community College to offer students the opportunity to earn college credits in approved dual enrollment courses.
The following courses are dual enrollment courses for the 2016-17 academic year:
Drawing II, Graphics II, Culinary Gourmet / Real World Cooking, Child Development, Computer Science, French 4 H, Italian 4 H, Spanish 4H, Environmental Science, Horticulture.
The benefits of participating in the dual enrollment program include:
- Credits earned at BCC are transferable to many New Jersey colleges and universities and many out-of-state institutions. (Please see your guidance counselor for more information.)
- Dual Enrollment College courses are offered at significantly reduced tuition rates and the fees will be waived for families facing economic hardship.
- Dual enrollment courses allow students to engage in college-level academic work while they are still in high school.
In order to be awarded college credit, students must earn a final grade of at least a “C”. Students can register by completing the registration form. After your guidance counselor has signed the form, please submit it the principal with your check or money order made out to Bergen Community College to cover the tuition and the registration fees. (The tuition for Math and Science courses, which are 4 credits, is $285; all other courses are 3 credits and are $217.50.) Registration begins on October 11th and runs until the end of November.
We are excited the about the dual enrollment program. It offers students the benefit of earning college credits for work they are currently doing in their high school courses. No additional academic work will be required and the program offers students the chance to earn college credits at a substantially reduced tuition rate.
