The Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District (the “District”) seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Business Administrator/Board Secretary (the “Business Administrator”) to lead business operations for one of the top-rated school districts in northern New Jersey.  The Business Administrator will manage two high schools serving three municipalities with over 2200 students.  The District is committed to meeting the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Business Administrator’s role is to supervise, manage, and coordinate the business affairs of the District efficiently and effectively to ensure that educational support services help to achieve the goals of the District with the available financial resources.  The Business Administrator also serves as the Board Secretary for the Board of Education for the District (the “Board”) , the chief financial officer for the District, the qualified purchasing agent for the Board, and the records custodian. The Business Administrator also supervises the Facilities, Security, Transportation, and Food Service Departments for the District. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  1. Valid New Jersey School Business Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility
  1. Qualified Purchasing Agent Certification or willingness to earn certification within the first 12 months of employment.
  2. Minimum experience of 5 years as school/business administrator 
  1. Understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute, code and GAAP requirements
  2. Knowledge of accepted business practices in school districts related to budget preparation and administration, risk management, purchasing, transportation, food services, school plant operations and facility planning
  1. Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills 
    1. Required criminal history background check and proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
