Aaron has been a resident of Oakland since 2011 and moved to New Jersey in 2007. He joined the Board in January of 2022.
Aaron is Dean of the School of Social Science and Human Services at Ramapo College and Professor of Law & Society. Aaron and his wife enjoy spending time with their two boys, one of which currently attends Indian Hills, and their dog. Aaron believes that education is the key to an engaged society and values intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, M.A. from San Diego State University, and B.A. from California State University, Chico.
Fun fact: Aaron discovered reggae music when he was 13 and considers himself a reggae-buff although he's not certain what one has to do to officially be a "buff."
