The passing of Jack Riley, second Principal of Indian Hills High School

The passing of Jack Riley, 2nd Principal of IHHS
Posted on 11/17/2016

I am sad to inform you that Jack Riley, a former Principal at Indian Hills, has passed away. Jack served as the second Principal of Indian Hills from 1969 through 1986. I was fortunate to be hired by Jack as a young Science teacher right out of college and for that I am eternally grateful. I enjoyed teaching and coaching under him for so many years.

After retirement, Jack volunteered for many years at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, at the Kurth Cottage. From time to time, I would bump into him and we would chat about the "good old days at Indian Hills."

Recently, he was able to join us at our 50th Anniversary Celebration in the Fall of 2014 and at that time in conversation seemed quite excited about how Indian Hills was continuing to thrive so much.

He was truly proud of "all that has been accomplished" both in his tenure and in his retirement. Those of us who knew him, will miss him and send our condolences to his family.
