We celebrate the standout performance of Jack Wallace, who led the U.S. sled hockey team to its fifth consecutive gold medal at the 2026 Winter Paralympics in Milan. The Indian Hills alum, (2016) recorded a hat trick in a 6–2 victory over Canada, securing his third career gold medal.
The game clinched an American hockey sweep over Canada in all the gold medal games for the men’s, women’s, and Paralympic tournaments in the same year.
The victory was especially emotional for Wallace and his teammates because it was their first gold medal celebration with family present since before the COVID-19 pandemic. After the game, Wallace joined his family in the stands to celebrate, emphasizing that the support of his community is "what it’s all about." While his coach praised his ability to create space and control the game, Wallace remained focused on the collective effort, noting that the accolades are best enjoyed alongside the people who have supported him since his childhood.
