As part of our district’s commitment to substance use prevention and mental health wellness, juniors and seniors at both Ramapo and Indian Hills High Schools participated in a powerful assembly featuring Steven Benvenisti, Esq. A partner at the law firm of Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, Mr. Benvenisti shared an unforgettable program titled "The Most Significant Case of My Entire Career".
The Message
Mr. Benvenisti’s presentation is centered on a life-altering event involving a New Jersey college student who was struck by a drunk driver. Through a deeply personal narrative, he recounts the student's harrowing journey, which included:

The presentation serves as a sobering reminder of how one choice can shape the entire trajectory of a person's life or the lives of others.
District Support
Following the presentation, students were encouraged to reflect on the message and connect with school staff if the topics brought up difficult emotions. A post-assembly discussion guide was also provided to faculty to help facilitate classroom conversations on safe decision-making and handling risky situations.
