Graduation 2021

Dear RIH Class of 2021 Students, Parents, and Families:

We are excited to celebrate your high school graduation with the entire class for an in-person ceremony! We fully understand that there are a good number of questions regarding this year’s plans and the impact of the latest regulation changes from the state. At this time, we can confirm the following:

  • We will be conducting an outdoor single session graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 24th
    • Ramapo High School: 4:30 P.M.                 Indian Hills High School: 6:30 PM
  • All graduates will be arranged on the field facing the endzone near the snack bar
  • We will make use of the full stadium and both sets of bleachers in order to maximize available seating
  • We will simulcast the ceremony so those who cannot attend for any reason can watch from the comfort of their home
    • As we get closer graduation, the link for the simulcast will be shared with the community

Please be aware that we are asked to do our best to maintain physical distancing for outdoor gatherings. So, please feel free to stay together as a household, but maintain physical distancing from members of other households. Be advised that mask wearing is not mandated for outdoor graduation ceremonies, however we recommend wearing a mask for those who are not yet fully vaccinated. Of course, if you are more comfortable wearing a mask, you are welcome to do so.

The district is currently working on finalizing emergency plans in the event that we are met with inclimate weather. Once these plans have been finalized, we will share them with everyone.

We recognize that there are still new rules and regulations to which we are all adapting and that elements of this celebration will look different from a traditional graduation. However, through your diligence and perseverance as a community, we are in a much better place than we were just a month or two ago. We know, with your cooperation, we will be able to properly celebrate the Class of 2021 with an in-person gathering on our campus that will acknowledge this significant milestone. As always, we greatly appreciate all of your efforts to help keep our school events as safe and celebratory as possible.

Sincerely,

Gregory Vacca, Principal                                                                   Travis Smith, Principal
