Superintendent's Message

Hello Ramapo Indian Hills students and families.

As your new Interim Superintendent, I would like to introduce myself to you. I am Anthony Riscica, and I have been in the field of education for over 40 years with the last 20 years in the position as a school administrator in New Jersey. My assignments have been in Bergen, Morris, and Passaic Counties with each district and town having its distinct needs and educational goals.

I am happy to be part of the RIH school community and look forward to achieving positive results in developing the best schedule for our children’s educational needs especially during this most difficult time and the challenges that we face during the pandemic. I look forward to working together with all stake holders including the Board of Education, students, parents and teachers as well as other community members.

My objective moving forward is to explore schedules that will bring our students back to school and making the best programs available to all students with consideration to their needs. First is paying attention to social and emotional factors that can interfere with the overall learning process. We are facing changes almost on a daily basis which requires flexibility and resiliency which is not always easy especially, for young adults. Next, I will review all levels of instruction including programs for students requiring special needs and accommodations to those engaged in Advanced Placement Programs and College studies and everyone in between.

I want you to know that I do appreciate input from the community to understand what everyone is experiencing from our schools including pros and cons. With that said, I hope to introduce a Superintendent’s Community Chat with representatives/parents from the FLOW community and another that will be geared specifically for our students. These Chats will take place multiple times during the school year to offer the opportunity to speak directly to me and administrators. Working together we can accomplish much in the way of offering our students the best education in a supportive and safe school environment.

I thank everyone for their support and patience as we move forward in bringing our children back to school.

Sincerely,

Anthony Riscica

Interim Superintendent
