Students are permitted to use a personal internet-enabled device on school grounds during the school day under the following circumstances:

• IEP Accommodations: To fulfill specific accommodations detailed in a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• 504 Plans: To support accommodations established under a Section 504 Plan.
• Medical & Health Plans: To monitor or manage documented medical conditions (e.g., using a smartwatch/phone app to monitor blood glucose levels or manage anxiety) upon submission of medical documentation.
• Translation & Language Assistance: For essential translation services to support English Language Learners when district-issued alternatives are unavailable.
• Student Caregivers: For students who serve as primary caregivers responsible for the ongoing care or well-being of a family member.
• No Reasonable Alternative: Special instructional or instructional-adjacent needs where no reasonable alternative exists, as authorized by the Principal or Superintendent.
• Legal Requirements & Emergencies: As required by state or federal law, or during active emergency situations.
