Dr. Baker, Interim Superintendent of Schools Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District
Dear Students, Parents, Guardians, Faculty, Staff, Administrators, and members of our greater community,
Dr. James C. Baker has been appointed Interim Superintendent of Schools for the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District commencing Monday, November 13, 2023 for the balance of the school year to June 30, 2024. The Board of Education and the Bergen County Superintendent of Schools have approved his appointment as is required by New Jersey law and policy.
Dr. Baker replaces Dr. Rui Dionisio who resigned effective Sunday, November 12, 2023. We wish Dr. Dionisio best of luck in his future endeavors and we thank him for his work for our District.
Dr. Baker has a Bachelor's of Sciences degree from Rutgers University, and a Doctor of Education degree from Rutgers University. He additionally holds a Master’s degree from Rutgers University in Special Education/Psychology. Dr. Baker has experience as a superintendent in other New Jersey school districts, as a principal and as a college professor.
The Board of Education will determine next steps in hiring a permanent superintendent.
Dr. Baker will attend his first Board of Education meeting on November 30, 2023 at the Ramapo High School cafeteria. We hope you will join us in giving him a warm welcome to our District.
