Human Resources Department

Welcome to the Human Resources Department

The Human Resources Department supports the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District in its mission to:

  • Demonstrate proficiency by meeting or exceeding all core standards through a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum;
  • Build and maintain an environment of trust where all students and staff feel safe and secure to learn and work;
  • Develop areas of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, innovation, and problem solving;
  • Leverage applicable technologies, including relevant tools, skills, and understandings, in the learning process;
  • Promote leadership, responsibility, adaptability, integrity, productivity, independence, and acceptance;
  • Encourage and support wellness and a healthy style of living;
  • Increase personal responsibility, social awareness and civic responsibility for humanitarian and environmental needs; and
  • Enhance the social, intellectual, and emotional development of each student.

As such, our focus is on the students of our district and we seek teachers, administrators, and support staff that best meet the requirements in fulfilling that mission. By working together with the district's administrators and the business office, human resources works to develop a supportive workplace designed to encourage staff teamwork, innovation and creativity. The human resources department strives to assist department supervisors and the district's administrative team in:

  • Attracting and retaining qualified, talented, dedicated and diverse staff members that provide the district's students with an educational experience that will equip them with the skills required for success in the 21st century;
  • Providing professional learning and development designed to equip district staff with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be effective and impactful educators in the 21st century classroom;
  • Establishing and implementing a comprehensive mentoring program for novice teachers;
  • Recognizing the achievements of our staff and their contributions to the school district and the FLOW community at-large;
  • Implementing a total rewards program that includes a competitive salary guide and a health benefits program that matches the needs of our staff and their families; and
  • Providing an "open door" for staff to encourage open communication, feedback and discussion with the knowledge that any discussions will be handled in an unbiased, confidential and timely manner.

Combined, these efforts will help to ensure: our students receive the best possible education; our staff is provided with the training and/or support necessary to help our students excel in a 21st century classroom environment; we continue to provide our staff with what is necessary to achieve a positive work/life balance; the district makes continuous improvement the "expectation" for all staff and students; and the district upholds its commitment to excellence.
